Meet The Artist

Lisa Williams is the founder and artist at Tattoo Girl Pottery in Oxford, North Carolina. 2025 has been a year of big changes and storms but also inspirations, a lot of wheel spinning, and kiln firing to create this collection of housewares and decorative items.

Each piece is unique. Sometimes Lisa makes one design or a handful, and then you might not see them again. She does have a slight fixation on gnomes, so you’ll find them throughout the site. Lisa is supported by North Carolina’s booming artist community, her family, and menagerie of pets: Tiegen, Boon, and Skitty.

Lisa says “use the pots.” The bowls are excellent for cereal or as a dog dish. Tiny cups can capture paperclips, flowers, or makeup brushes – no holds barred, no rules, just hand-made with love from the state known for its phenomenal pottery.

Lisa taught art to children and adults with intellectual disabilities for over 30 years. In her retirement, she returned to another passion - pottery. Lisa has been throwing pots and improving her skills for 25 years. Working with a local craftsman, she built her studio with salvage, wood from the property, and some hardscrabble ingenuity. You can find her in the purple studio most days. If she’s not painting or throwing, she’s searching for new clay or glazes, volunteering, or connecting with community members.

Pottery happens periodically. The work on the site is comprised of several collections. We anticipate another creative outpouring later this year so be sure to follow Tattoo Girl Pottery on Facebook or Instagram.

Thank you for your support!
